Optimo, also known as WERDSMOKER, is a native New York artist from Chelsea.
He began writing graffiti in 1989, which developed into a full time art career in 2010.

The streets have always had a special significance to OPTIMO’s art:
the exposure is limitless, giving him a chance to communicate with the general public.

He is well known for his signature character, which goes by the name SAYNOSLEEP.
OPTIMO’s characters are a reflection of himself; which are shown either in a cartoon style or seen wearing a skull like mask,
all which are mostly painted with a top hat and bandana.
